Before getting tied up with monitoring the Sandhill Cranes this afternoon, I spent a little time with the odd bird out today.
This California Quail has been in the sanctuary for a little while now, likely having been released on Westham Island along with other game birds by the local rod and gun club.
It was challenging getting some decent shots of the bird as it was so busy chasing the geese and ducks around. Quite the attitude this little bird had.
