Talk about a mixed bag of weather in the Vancouver area today. Sun, clouds, wind, rain, hail, snow and ending with sun. While volunteering at Reifel this afternoon there was a couple of times I ended up taking shelter under the trees. It was quiet on the birding front at the sanctuary, so I headed into the Ladner area on my way home. The reason for this detour,

… a Dickcissel that had be found and reported the other day.

I believe this is only the second record for British Columbia. The Dickcissel is usually not seen west of the prairies.

Fortunately it was sunny again and I managed a few shots. Another addition to my life photo list was a good way to end the day.
