Harris’s Sparrow

While I have not been having any luck getting the Swamp Sparrows present at Reifel,

… the Harris’s Sparrow is also still present.

It is now frequenting the area near the Fuller’s Slough viewing platform and providing good looks and photo opportunities.

American Bittern

A decent day and crowd at Reifel today, but it was fairly quiet on the photo front. Things did pick up a little,

… when this American Bittern showed up along the west marsh.

Several visitors took the opportunity to enjoy seeing this bird in the open. This included myself as it has been awhile since I have seen and photographed one.

Varied Thrush

While still cold, the sun was shining and I needed to get out for a walk before the day ended. While I was not finding a hole lot,

… I did come across a few Varied Thrush.

They were busy back and forth between the trees,

… and occasionally foraging on the ground. While not quite the shots I would like, it was still good to see them and have a chance at some photos.
