{"id":5231,"date":"2018-09-23T21:50:08","date_gmt":"2018-09-24T04:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/?p=5231"},"modified":"2018-09-26T23:21:11","modified_gmt":"2018-09-27T06:21:11","slug":"wren-owl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/?p=5231","title":{"rendered":"Bewick&#8217;s + Great Horned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not having found a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper amongst the Pectoral Sandpipers a few days ago at Boundary Bay, I was looking forward to helping out at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reifel<\/a> this afternoon as one was spotted there yesterday. So I started my afternoon at the sanctuary by checking the outside ponds. On speaking with other birders who had been checking since the morning, the Sharp-tailed Sandpiper had not been relocated and I did not fare any better.<\/p>\n<p>Having struck out there, I started making my way to the east dyke trail where a Great Horned Owl had been sighted earlier.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5229\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5229\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"480\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5229\" alt=\"Bewick's Wren\" src=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/BEWR025.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/BEWR025.jpg 600w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/BEWR025-150x120.jpg 150w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/BEWR025-300x240.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5229\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bewick&#8217;s Wren<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Along the way a couple of Bewick&#8217;s Wren were flitting back and forth across the trail. A second Great Horned Owl flew in while there and landed in a tree along the inside grassy trail.
