Understandably there were not many visitors, but there was a&nbsp; Great Horned Owl to show the hardy few I met along the east dyke trail. While neither my shooting position or weather were ideal, it was still good to see this winter visitor.<\/p>\n<p>In other sanctuary news, the well known raptor snag got blown down this past week. Along the main path to the large covered viewing platform,<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4941\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4941\" style=\"width: 480px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"600\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4941\" alt=\"Peregrine Falcon\" src=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/PEFA055b.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/PEFA055b.jpg 480w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/PEFA055b-120x150.jpg 120w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/PEFA055b-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 85vw, 480px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4941\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Peregrine Falcon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230; it was a favourite roosting spot for birds of prey and for visitors to see and photograph them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was cool, windy and wet when I made my way to Reifel to help out on the trails this afternoon.
