Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reifel<\/a> when I showed up to help out on the trails this afternoon. While still fairly quiet on the birding front, there were a couple of interesting sightings.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the day was an update on the Eastern Kingbird pair that have been at the sanctuary for some time now. The question in everyone&#8217;s mind has been could they be nesting here. That got answered this morning with the nest being located in a tree at the edge of one of the little islands heading out towards the west field. The best angle is probably from the beginning of the south dyke trail looking west using a scope for viewing. While I could make it out with my camera,<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3578\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3578\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3578\" src=\"http:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/EAKI008.jpg\" alt=\"Eastern Kingbird Nest\" width=\"600\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/EAKI008.jpg 600w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/EAKI008-150x120.jpg 150w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/EAKI008-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/EAKI008-375x300.jpg 375w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3578\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Eastern Kingbird Nest<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230; it is too far off for pictures. I did manage to observe them trading places on the nest while watching it for awhile this afternoon. At the time of this photo it was watching something intently in the field below.
