Did my usual stint at <a title=\"George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reifel<\/a> this afternoon and there were lots of visitors out enjoying the day. Still fairly quiet on the birding front though. Spotted one Rough-legged Hawk that has not moved on yet,<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3069\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3069\" style=\"width: 398px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3069\" alt=\"Evening Grosbeak\" src=\"http:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/EVGR025.jpg\" width=\"398\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/EVGR025.jpg 398w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/EVGR025-99x150.jpg 99w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/EVGR025-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 85vw, 398px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3069\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Evening Grosbeak<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230; and there were still half a dozen Evening Grosbeak around. While there is still a couple present, there were no Northern Saw-whet Owls along the east dyke trail today. Did not see the American Bittern that has been showing well lately either.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of my day at the sanctuary I was informed that some Mountain Bluebirds had been spotted at Boundary Bay Regional Park in Tsawwassen. They pass through here each year at this time. I had been down there last week looking for them without success. As I looked up there was a Merlin right above me. Not long after it left, a Cooper&#8217;s Hawk showed up briefly. Needless to say the Mountain Bluebirds did not surface again while I was there.
