One pleasant surprise was one of the wintering Black-crowned Night-Heron at <a title=\"George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reifel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2985\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2985\" style=\"width: 398px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2985\" alt=\"Black-crowned Night-Heron\" src=\"http:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BCNH086.jpg\" width=\"398\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BCNH086.jpg 398w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BCNH086-99x150.jpg 99w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/BCNH086-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 85vw, 398px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2985\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Black-crowned Night-Heron<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Usually tucked away in the trees and obscured by branches, this one was roosting relatively out in the open.<\/p>\n<p>Then in the tree tops adjacent\u00a0to the tower were a couple of Bald Eagles. It is great when they show up here because when shooting from the top of the tower you are at almost the same height as they are.
