As another great year of birding and photography comes to a close, there were several highlights that come to mind for 2012.<\/p>\n

One nemesis bird I had been trying to get better shots of,<\/p>\n

\"Common
Common Redpoll<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

… was the Common Redpoll.<\/p>\n

A life list addition was\u00a0the Red-necked Stint,<\/p>\n

\"Red-necked
Red-necked Stint<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

… which is a rare visitor and not photographed often around here.<\/p>\n

A couple\u00a0of shore birds I have not managed to\u00a0photograph for a\u00a0few years.<\/p>\n

\"Ruff\"

A Ruff (juvenile),<\/p>\n

\"American
American Golden-Plover<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

…\u00a0the American Golden-Plover,<\/p>\n

… and after several attempts,<\/p>\n

\"White-throated
White-throated Sparrow<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

… the White-throated Sparrow.<\/p>\n

While\u00a0not the best day for\u00a0photos,<\/p>\n

\"Cave
Cave Swallow<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

…\u00a0the Cave Swallow\u00a0was another life list addition.<\/p>\n

The last life list addition of the year,<\/p>\n

Sage Thrasher<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

… was the Sage Thrasher this month.<\/p>\n
