Good numbers were seen the other day at <a title=\"George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.reifelbirdsanctuary.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Reifel<\/a>, so that is where I headed this afternoon. I started off down the east dyke trail, but no sign of them along there. There were also four Pied-billed Grebe around as well, just not close enough for decent photos.<\/p>\n<p>While continuing my search for the Redpoll along the centre dyke trail,<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1868\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1868\" style=\"width: 398px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1868\" title=\"Barred Owl\" src=\"http:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BADO038.jpg\" alt=\"Barred Owl\" width=\"398\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BADO038.jpg 398w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BADO038-99x150.jpg 99w, https:\/\/crazym.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/BADO038-199x300.jpg 199w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 398px) 85vw, 398px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1868\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Barred Owl<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230; I came across this Barred Owl roosting in a Birch tree. A favourite spot for it of late, just the first time I have managed to see and photograph it here. I ended up spending a fair bit of time here with my camera set up and showing the owl to other visitors.<\/p>\n<p>It was getting late now and I resigned myself to the fact the Redpoll would have to wait for another day.
