Great Egret

It was a beautiful fall day and a good crowd out at Reifel this afternoon. Highlights from the morning walk were Ruddy Duck, Ring-necked Duck, Pied-billed Grebe and Stilt Sandpiper. The Ruddy Duck in Fuller’s Slough was too far off for photos. I then made my way to the outer ponds, but was unable to relocate the Stilt Sandpiper. While I managed to see a few more Grebe, there was not much else going on. That was until later in the afternoon in the house pond at the foot of the south dyke trail,

Today’s weather conditions were much better than last months,

So, needless to say I was a much happier camper with this opportunity and these photos.

Overcast and windy today with the odd brief shower thrown in for good measure. On the bright side,

… I finally managed to see the Great Egret and have my camera with me.

It was some distance away,
